Who We Are

Stem Cell Assisted Arthroscopic Surgery is carried out by Dr Sam Sorrenti at The Medica Centre, Hurstville.

Dr Sorrenti is a specialist in stem cell assisted arthroscopic surgery of the knee.

He has been practising since 1986 and has established himself as an expert in the fields of arthroscopic surgery and major tendon ruptures.

What We Do

We combine arthrscopic knee surgery with an injection of the body’s own regenerative cells to improve healing and reduce recovery times.

The regenerative cells are adipose-derived stem cells which are collected via a mini-liposuction procedure from under the patient’s skin.

The tissue goes to a Regeneus laboratory to extract the stem cells, which are then injected into the knee later the same day.

The Benefits

  • Harness the body’s own regenerative capacity
  • Improve recovery times
  • Delay or prevent the necessity for total joint replacement
  • Reduce the tendency to form scar tissue
